Cataract surgery

Cataract is opacification of the lens of the eye. The opacities must be removed for the vision to be restored.
In the traditional cataract surgery, it is removed by a large incision that might result in error of refraction after the surgery, however, in our hospital we do cataract surgery with the most advanced technique in the world which is “phacoemulsification”. This surgery is done through very small incision (2.2-2.8mm) in few minutes. This incision doesn’t need to be sutured and leaves refraction as if it is untouched.
After the phacoemulsification surgery, the cornea returns back to its normal curvature and patient can return to work shortly after the surgery
